About the Program
The Neighborhood Leadership Development Program (NLDP) was designed to enhance the diverse leadership abilities of active and engaged Clevelanders who are committed to creating a city and region that works for everyone.
NLDP is an 11-month leadership training program with 16 sessions that include subject areas such as emotional intelligence, community engagement methods, fundraising, marketing and communications, leading through an equity lens and more.
The ongoing vision of the Neighborhood Leadership Development Program is to foster the growth of a new vanguard of neighborhood leaders in the City of Cleveland. NLDP is a continuously evolving program that emphasizes excellence in leadership skills transfer, support for its graduates, and the engagement of “NLDP Coaches” during and after the completion of the program to enhance the quality and pace of positive change in Cleveland's neighborhoods. Additionally, NLDP participants are eligible to apply for NLDP Graduate Support Grants following completion of the program.
Each NLDP cohort participates in a 16-session program over the course of the year. Program modules are led by experienced, proven local leaders and are focused on highly relevant, actionable topics specifically designed for neighborhood community leaders. These sessions include topics such as: Who You Are ... Is How You Lead, Group Facilitation and Team Building, Rallying Your Neighborhood for Change, Service to Community and Yourself, Program Marketing and Communications, Program Fundraising, Leading through a Trauma-informed Lens, and Leading Through an Equity Lens.
