The Mandel Foundation is pleased to welcome two new Trustees, who have begun their service on the Board in April 2018.
Scott S. Cowen is now President Emeritus of Tulane University, where he served as president from July 1998 to June 2014. He is the recipient of several national awards, including the Carnegie Corporation Academic Leadership Award and the TIAA-CREF Theodore M. Hesburgh Award for Leadership Excellence in Higher Education. He is also a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and was a member of the White House Council for Community Solutions, which advised President Barack Obama on the needs of disconnected youth.
Morris W. Offit is the Chairman of Offit Capital, a wealth management advisory firm. Previously, he was Founder and CEO of OFFITBANK, a wealth management private bank, which merged into Wachovia Bank/Wells Fargo in 1999. He has served as chairman of Johns Hopkins University, the Jewish Museum and UJA-Federation of New York. In addition, he is a board member and trustee of the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia, the New-York Historical Society and WNET.
Mr. Offit retired recently as a Director of AIG, where he was Chairman of the Finance and Risk Management Committee.
