On May 21, 2016, the inaugural Cleveland Heritage Medal was awarded to Morton L. Mandel and four other community leaders (Reverend Dr. Otis Moss, Jr., Sandra Pianalto, the Honorable George V. Voinovich and Richard W. Pogue) in recognition of their long-standing work and dedication to Cleveland and its institutions.
The medal was presented during MetroHealth System’s fundraising black-tie gala. The Cleveland Heritage Medal is bestowed upon individuals whose significant contributions through leadership, collaboration and service have left an indelible mark on all spheres of the Cleveland community.
