- Western Reserve Land Conservancy
Western Reserve Land Conservancy, the largest land trust in Ohio, has preserved over 70,000 acres at more than 880 properties, created or expanded nearly 200 public parks and preserves, established 50 county land banks, and planted over 15,000 trees in Cleveland, all while working to clean and green urban centers statewide. This mission aligns with the Foundation’s commitment to urban revitalization in Cleveland. In July 2023, the Mandel Foundation designated $10 million to Western Reserve Land Conservancy (WRLC) to support the Euclid Beach Transformation Project. This project will provide lakefront access for Cleveland’s east-side communities by combining three parks into one beautiful green space along Lake Erie in the Collinwood neighborhood. This grant to WRLC, in addition to a grant to redevelop the tree canopy, is a part of the Foundation’s total $24 million investment toward lakefront development projects in the St. Clair Superior, Glenville, and Collinwood neighborhoods as they continue their efforts to create strong, thriving communities.
