Staying Together

Staying Together is a nonprofit entity and collaborative effort organized by residents of Kibbutz Nir Oz, one of the communities most devastated by the Hamas attacks on October 7. Of the community’s 271 surviving residents, 55 families have chosen to relocate and rebuild in an alternative kibbutz, Kibbutz Beit Nir, located 36 miles east of Nir Oz. In November of 2024, the Mandel Foundation made a $5 million grant to support resident and family relocation efforts. These funds, along with Israel’s government land subsidies and funds from individuals, families, and other philanthropic support, will help Staying Together reach its goal to build 52 homes in Kibbutz Beit Nir for Nir Oz households
