St. Martin DePorres

Founded in 2003, St. Martin DePorres is a Catholic, college preparatory high school serving low-income youth located in the St. Clair Superior neighborhood of Cleveland. St. Martin is widely celebrated for its integration of 21st century skills and high-quality work experiences into its curriculum, earning income and offsetting tuition costs through relationships with local corporate and nonprofit partners. In support of St. Martin efforts to increase nonprofit job placements, the Mandel Foundation allocated $2 million in 2025 to underwrite the cost of nonprofit job placements and ensure that every student has access to a meaningful work experience. This four-year investment will strengthen Cleveland’s nonprofit ecosystem, help the school meet its fundraising goals, preserve program quality, and deepen students’ understanding of civic engagement and career pathways.
