- National Library of Israel
Founded in 1892, the National Library of Israel (NLI) serves as a central institution for collecting, preserving, and sharing the treasures of Jewish knowledge, heritage, and culture. Its landmark campus opened in 2023, and reaches a broad and diverse public through extensive physical and digital resources and cultural programming that includes music, theater, lectures, and exhibitions. The National Library’s holdings tell the historical, cultural, and intellectual story of the Jewish people, the State of Israel, and the Land of Israel and its region throughout the ages. In 2025, the Foundation provided a $20 million endowment to support NLI’s cultural programming through the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Cultural Center. The endowment will ensure the longevity of the Mandel Cultural Center activities including signature events such as Hebrew Book Week, an annual film festival, and bilingual theatrical performances, along with international conferences and rotating exhibitions, enriching Jewish history and heritage for generations to come.
