Midbarium – Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Animal Park

Jointly supported by the Beer Sheva Municipality and a 2018 grant of $20 million from the Mandel Foundation, the new Midbarium – Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Animal Park, the first park of its kind in Israel, is an educational and experiential center for the whole family. Completed in 2023, Midbarium advocates active learning and exploration through a desert travel experience, interactive games, and direct animal encounters designed to familiarize visitors with animal behaviors and our planet’s ecosystems. The park also serves as a home for endangered desert animals, injured wildlife, and animals born in captivity who cannot be returned to their natural habitat.
