The Jewish Community Response and Impact Fund (JCRIF) is a collective response to the devastating impact of the pandemic on every aspect of the Jewish communal landscape. As one of the first funders to join the JCRIF in April 2020, the Mandel Foundation supported the JCRIF Interest-Free Loan Program to provide immediate operational assistance for impacted organizations, and the Aligned Grant Program, partnering with a select group of major funders across the country. The Aligned Grant Program provided support for the Israel XP gap-year program at Bar Ilan University; the Foundation for Jewish Camp capacity expansion initiative at 38 camps; and the JCRIF Reset Grant program, awarding grants to Moishe House, Community Security Service, Repair the World, Custom and Craft Jewish Rituals, and M2: The Institute for Experiential Jewish Learning. The Mandel Foundation’s participation in JCRIF highlights the importance of collaboration and collective action to protect and promote Jewish communal life.
