- Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Innovation Center - MindCET
Through $6.9 million in capital grants to the New Yeruham Foundation in 2015 and 2018, the Mandel Foundation supported the construction of the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Innovation Center in the Negev desert town of Yeruham. The first EdTech park in Israel, the Mandel Innovation Center, is home to MindCET. This organization brings together entrepreneurs, educators and researchers to develop innovative educational technology to bridge the gap between technology in school environments and the outside world. MindCET is recognized globally in the EdTech field for creating ties between the Israeli startup and global education communities and launching the world’s most prominent and leading competition for EdTech startups, the Global EdTech Startups Awards. Completed in 2019, the Mandel Innovation Center serves as a place of significant learning, exploration, reflection, and development for Israel and the entire educational world. In 2023, the Foundation approved additional funding to establish the AI & the Humanities Lab at the Mandel Innovation Center. This partnership between MindCET and Case Western Reserve University seeks to explore the ethical, philosophical, and cultural implications of AI in the humanities, creating new research and learning opportunities and enhancing the development of educational technology.
