- COVID-19 Pandemic Response
Beginning March 2020, the Mandel Foundation provided over $33 million in support to nonprofit organizations and communities impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. These efforts included $7 million in support for the Jewish Community Response and Impact Fund (JCRIF), an interest-free loan program together with six other national foundations for a total impact of $49 million. Other substantial grants during this time include a gift of $1 million to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank; $950,000 to the Jerusalem Foundation; and $850,000 to support college students at Hebrew University, Bezalel Academy of Arts & Design, and Sapir College in Israel. Additional grants were made to provide a safety-net for survivors of domestic violence, the elderly, and at-risk youth.
