- Cleveland Neighborhood Progress
Cleveland Neighborhood Progress (CNP) was founded in 1988 through a partnership between the Mandel Foundation, the Cleveland Foundation, and the Gund Foundation to bring strategic direction to neighborhood Community Development Corporations (CDCs) in Cleveland. Supported by the Mandel Foundation since 1989, CNP initially focused on real estate development. However, their 2022-2027 strategic plan resulted in a new mission to revitalize Cleveland neighborhoods by strengthening the community development ecosystem. In keeping with the Mandel brothers’ longtime commitment to Cleveland, annual support from the Foundation enabled the implementation of this strategic plan by providing support to CDCs; growing a pipeline of talent in the community development professional sector; preparing emerging leaders for advanced training through the Mandel Community Development Corporation Leadership Program; and supporting citywide marketing of CDCs and neighborhoods.
