The Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA) is one of the nation’s leading encyclopedic art museums, serving local, national, and international audiences through its collections, exhibitions, scholarships, and public programs. The Mandel Foundation’s partnership with CMA began with a 1992 educational endowment and expanded through major capital support, including a $7.5 million grant in 2012 to establish the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Armor Court. The Foundation has continued to support loans of armor that enrich the popular gallery. In 2025, the Foundation awarded a grant to advance CMA’s Jewish Art Initiative, strengthening curatorial staffing, exhibitions, conservation, research, travel, and public programs that illuminate Jewish artistic, cultural, and religious traditions.
