- Cleveland Clinic
For over a century, the Cleveland Clinic has been an asset to the Northeast Ohio region, as a leader in caring for people, researching for health, and educating those who serve. Beginning with small projects and operating grants in the 1980s, the Mandel Foundation’s investment in the Cleveland Clinic has evolved over time. In 2018, an $18 million gift established the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Global Leadership and Learning Institute, located on the Health Education Campus at CWRU. Through this capital investment, the Clinic expanded its focus to include the development of future top-executive leaders in healthcare. The gift also created within the Mandel Institute, the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Global Leadership and Learning Pathway, an educational initiative designed to support top-performing Clinic caregivers and cultivate them for future executive leadership roles. Building on Mort Mandel’s legacy of investment in leadership and as a tribute to his impact in Cleveland and the world, the Morton L. Mandel CEO Chair and the Morton L. Mandel Innovation Fund were established with a $30 million grant in 2022 to support pioneering ideas in the medical field as directed by the leader of the Cleveland Clinic enterprise.
