The Mandel Foundation is pleased to welcome a new member to its Board of Trustees, Amira Ahronoviz, whose professional career included 30 years of service at The Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI). Amira was appointed JAFI's first female CEO & Director General in 2019, leading its strategic expansion, and navigating unprecedented global crises — including COVID-19, the Ukraine-Russia war, Ethiopian Aliyah, and the Swords of Iron War — until her retirement in October 2024.

Amira holds an M.A. in Business Management and is a 2015 graduate of the Mandel School for Educational Leadership, where her major research area was “social impact investing,” leading to the creation of SparkIL. This digital nonprofit Peer-to-Peer Lending platform has raised over $10 million to provide interest-free loans to marginalized micro-businesses in Israel, engaging over 5,000 social lenders worldwide and supporting businesses in the socio-economic periphery.

She currently serves as Board Chair for Voice of the People, a global initiative led by the President of Israel, is a Board Member for the Pincus Fund for Jewish Education and is a founding member of 'KESHET Mazkeret Batya' – an educational community integrating religious and secular families through a comprehensive K-12 educational system.
