About Us

The Mandel Center for Leadership in the Negev believes that leadership is the ability to bring about change in institutions and organizations based on a value-oriented vision and the translation of vision into practical programs whose implementation we guide.

The main thrust of the Center's activity is long-term, in-depth training programs that are aimed at improving the leadership abilities of the social oriented teams in the public services – welfare, education, planning, health, etc. The goal of each program is to bring about change in the guiding perceptions of the program participants and their organizations, as well as to bring about change in the organizations’ conduct. This should result in significantly improving the quality of services offered and their effect on the recipient population.

The training programs deal with issues that are on the agenda of the participants’ organizations, together with discussion of relevant theories. The type of training and its content are tailored to each group’s specific and unique needs.

In the framework of study, program participants prepare projects, such as master plans, strategic plans and position papers. These projects are based on the vision and professional perceptions that are formulated in the course of the training.

Alongside these programs the Center also provides other models of training:
Round Tables designed for teams of professionals in social fields in the Negev that focus on a professional issue or on a specific product/outcome that is developed in this framework.
Study Units related to the Center’s fields of expertise that are integrated into programs jointly run with other organizations and institutions, such as: Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Shatil and AJEEC.
